Ronda Ultra-Low-Temperature LiFePO4 Batteries Successfully Developed!Stable Power Supply in -50°C Extreme Environments, Breaking Industry Low-Temperature Performance Bottlenecks

2026 04/15

Recently, RONDA officially announced that the company’s self-developed ultra-low temperature LiFePO₄ cylindrical cell series has achieved major technological breakthroughs and full-scale mass production. With core performance of stable discharge at an extreme low temperature of -50℃, these cells have completely broken the application limits of traditional lithium batteries in frigid environments, providing brand-new power solutions for cold chain, outdoor energy storage, emergency lighting and other fields.
Technological Breakthrough: Redefining the Standard for Low-Temperature Power Supply
Limited by material properties, traditional LiFePO₄ batteries usually suffer serious capacity degradation below -20℃ and fail to meet power supply demands in extreme scenarios. Through comprehensive optimization of cathode materials, electrolyte formulation and cell structure, RONDA’s R&D team has overcome industry bottlenecks such as low lithium-ion mobility and severe polarization at low temperatures, achieving multiple performance breakthroughs:
Extreme low-temperature adaptability: Discharge temperature ranges from -50℃ to 60℃, charging temperature supports -30℃ to 60℃. It maintains a stable discharge platform even at -50℃, with capacity retention far exceeding similar products in the industry.
Wide-rate discharge capability: Supports 0.5C~3C wide-rate discharge at -40℃, and 1C~3C high-rate discharge at -50℃, adapting to power supply requirements of different power scenarios.
Ultra-long cycle life: Over 90% capacity retention after 300 cycles at -30℃, and stable above 90% capacity retention after 800 cycles at -20℃, delivering outstanding durability in low-temperature environments.
High safety and reliability: Adopting the intrinsically safe LiFePO₄ system with much better thermal stability than ternary lithium batteries, no risk of thermal runaway. The cells have passed IEC, CE, CB, RoHS and other international authoritative certifications, and are underwritten by PICC (People’s Insurance Company of China), providing dual guarantee of quality and safety.
These products are widely applicable to cold chain warehousing and logistics, solar power supply in alpine regions, emergency lighting and security systems, outdoor special equipment, and many other fields, solving the industry pain points of traditional lithium batteries such as “failure in low temperatures” and unstable power supply in extreme cold environments.

Strategic Significance: Empowering Extreme Scenarios and Expanding the Boundaries of Lithium Battery Applications

The successful development of Ronda’s ultra-low temperature LiFePO₄ batteries marks not only an important milestone for the company in lithium battery technology, but also fills the domestic technological gap in ultra-low temperature LiFePO₄ cylindrical cells, injecting new momentum into the development of China’s lithium battery industry in extreme environment applications.
